Sonia Kacem wins the 2018 edition with the work Les Grandes
 
 
Milan, October 26, 2018 - Sonia Kacem is the winner of the Artists for Frescobaldi Award 2018, with her work Les Grandes, now in its fourth edition. The announcement at the inauguration of the exhibition in the Sala Parnaso of the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan (GAM) at the award ceremony, by an exceptional jury, composed of Hans-Ulrich Obrist (director of the Serpentine Gallery in London) , Elena Filipovic (director of the Kunsthalle of Basel), Andrea Viliani (director of the Madre Museum of Naples).
 
"" We awarded Sonia Kacem for the "Les Grandes" work created for the Award - said the Jury - for the use of natural materials connected to the earth, for the personal reinvention of traditional craft technologies, for an entropic approach and a sensitivity to the formlessness that reshape the defined geometries and industrial surfaces of the minimalist sculpture, with which the artist seems to explore a counter-matter and to develop a counter-shape with respect to these same possible references.
Sara Kacem, born in Geneva in 1985, will be honored this evening at the GAM in front of an audience of collectors, journalists, contemporary art lovers, and friends of the family.
the three works will remain on show to the public, in the Sala Parnaso from today until November 4, 2018.
The three works created for the prize will then be set up in the appropriate spaces of the Tenuta di CastelGiocondo, to be part of the Collection, open to the public on request (www.artistiperfrescobadli.it)
