PREMIO ARTISTI PER FRESCOBALDI EDIZIONE 2014 Berlino /Milano

On show are the works of the artists who participated in the 2014 edition of the Artists for Frescobaldi Prize, conceived by Tiziana Frescobaldi and edited by the critic Ludovico Pratesi. The Award is dedicated to the promotion of international contemporary artists of the latest generations, invited to create a work inspired by the Frescobaldi estates and the history of the family. For the 2014 edition, a work inspired by the Castello di Nipozzano (in Chianti Rufina, a few kilometers from Florence) was invited by two German artists, Michael Sailstorfer and Jorinde Voigt, and by an Italian artist, Yuri Ancarani. The latter produced a work, entitled May 1, dedicated to the private cellar of the Frescobaldi at the Castle of Nipozzano and focused on the family tradition of putting aside a certain number of bottles at the birth of each child. Akt 1-5 is the video installation by Michael Sailstorfer, which reflects on the relationship between artist and model, and where wine becomes the material to outline the profile of the girl in 5 different poses. A Difference that Makes a Difference, is the title of the design by Jorinde Voigt, based on a complex system of graphs and conceptual diagrams, where spots of color meet vector lines and mysterious geometries, which interpret the processes of wine. The jury, composed of Dirk Luckow, Angelika Nollert and Letizia Ragaglia, indicated as winner of the Michael Sailstorfer award. In a section of the exhibition the 3 bottles Magnun of Montesodi Riserva 2011 are also exhibited, special selection of the cru of Castello di Nipozzano: a limited and numbered edition of the great red wine that the company has dedicated to Artists for Frescobaldi. The bottles - 999 pieces in all - have three different labels made by the participating artists, who recalled the work in competition. Opening January 15, 2015 from 6 pm
